What was your body dealing with at the top of world surfing that people never saw?
Shoulders, mostly. Two decades of paddling. And the sheer volume of it — the travel, the time zones, competing in water that could hurt you. You learn to present as fine because that's the job, and the bill arrives about fifteen years later.
