The part nobody saw
For anyone that's ever dedicated themselves to becoming the best at what they do there's a lot that goes into the preparation for that performance. And the result of that, or sometimes the cost of that, can be quite significant, especially on my body. So I was dealing with a lot of pain and discomfort. I was also dealing with a lot of loneliness and mental health challenges that nobody really gets to see. And I am a silent sufferer. I do suffer in silence.
There's a lot of talk about lifespan, but healthspan I believe is way more important… it's one thing to have a long lifespan, but if you're not healthy and you're not happy, then you don't really want to be living.
When I turned 50, my body changed a lot because I experienced menopause early… So for any woman going through changes, my advice to you is: it's normal. Don't resist it, because what you resist persists.
