We recruited 10 MMA athletes and recorded their responses to a range of questions relating to their recovery over the course of a 12-week period during which they consumed Kurk at a standard dose.

When it comes to sports, recovery is essential for athletes to perform at their best. Recovery time needs to be brief enough for tissue repair and adaptation but not too long to delay training or cause athletes to lose their skills. The ability to recover is a crucial factor in an athlete's development and performance level.
Curcumin is a polyphenol found in turmeric that has been used for cooking and medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Recent scientific studies have shown that curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties and potential benefits in improving human health, including cancer treatment. However, its poor bioavailability has limited its effectiveness as it passes through the gut almost completely unabsorbed.
In 2022, We developed a curcumin formulation that overcomes the issue of poor absorption by creating a micellar emulsion with dissolved curcumin at the core of each particle, allowing it to pass effortlessly across the gut wall and into the circulation.
Our formulation contains only plant-derived ingredients, and micellar curcumin enters the bloodstream on the order of 1000x more than that of naturally occurring curcumin.
Our founders are serious athletes and wanted to test if their micellar curcumin could improve post-training and competition recovery. They conducted a study on ten MMA athletes who train at high intensity and have little time to recover through rest.
The athletes consumed Kurk at a standard dose for 12 weeks, and their responses to a range of recovery-related questions were recorded.
The study showed that regular Kurk curcumin consumption had beneficial effects on perceived energy levels, motivation to train, pain and soreness, sleep, recovery time, and anti-inflammatory use.
These improvements are closely linked as reductions in inflammation lead to less pain, better sleep, faster recovery, and higher motivation.
This small study is encouraging, and we plan to continue assessing the benefits of micellar Curcumin in other cohorts such as endurance athletes. We also plan to collaborate with basic research groups to evaluate the mechanisms through which Curcumin exerts these effects at a molecular and cellular level.
